SKILLS FOR CONTEMPORARY LEADERSHIP CHALLENGES

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course will provide a framework of critical thinking skills and knowledge that will assist the student to function in a leadership capacity. The primary objective of this course will be for the student to develop the skills needed for contemporary leadership challenges and the ability to propose needed solutions to transform organizations through effective leadership. The study of this course will enhance the students’s knowledge and skills in effective leadership of people and organizations. The student’s awareness and ability to apply Christian leadership principles will be increased.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

► Identify the key issues that confront the leader in ministry, education, business, and other organizations.

► Identify and develop strategies for developing effective leadership in his/her own family, business, and ministry.

► Discuss and formulate a leadership training and development strategy for an organization.

► Demonstrate a level of competency in assessing levels of function and dysfunction in the leadership of an organization.

► Develop a personal theory and methodology of effective Christian leadership.

COURSE ACADEMICS

This course is worth four quarter units of credit in the degree programs of Embassy College.

Dr. Ronald E. Cottle

Dr. Ronald E. Cottle is the Founder and President Emeritus of Christian Life School of Theology (CLST Global), the Founder and President Emeritus of the Apostolic Council of Transformational Servant-Leaders (ACTS) and the Founder and President of the Embassy College (EC).

He received a diploma in Theology from Southeastern Bible Institute, Lakeland, Florida, a B.A. in English-Religion, Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida, the M-Div. from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, South Carolina, and both the Ph.D. in Religion and the M.S.Ed. and Ed.D. in Higher Education from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles.
